Hormone Replacement
Therapy

Females

Female hormone replacement therapy (HRT) may help women who are suffering from unbalanced hormones. Bioidentical hormones delivered through BHRT pellets/creams or troches closely replicate the molecular structure of human hormones. When hormones are out of balance, hormone replacement therapy for women may help relieve a wide array of symptoms, both physical and emotional. Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy for women aims to relieve the source of the problem, not just the symptoms themselves.

What Conditions Can Hormone Imbalance Cause?

When a female has a hormone imbalance in their endocrine system, they can develop symptoms that range from subtle to debilitating. This means there is either too much or too little of a woman’s hormones being produced somewhere within the endocrine system. Symptoms of a hormonal imbalance in women may include:

  • Heavy, irregular, or uncomfortable periods*

  • Decreased bone density*

  • Hot flashes and night sweats*

  • Vaginal dryness*

  • Breast tenderness*

  • Indigestion*

  • Constipation or diarrhea*

What Are Female BHRT Pellets?

Female BHRT pellets are comprised of custom-compounded hormones. These pellets are inserted subcutaneously during a quick in-office visit. Usually, within four to six weeks after the pellet insertion, the bioidentical hormone replacement therapy for a woman’s endocrine system begins to take effect. Many patients may begin to experience the benefits of the Biote Method after the second insertion.* (Biote.com)

Types of Therapy for Males

Biote Certified Providers use pellets, which can be inserted during an office visit in only a few minutes. Within up to two to four weeks after pellet insertion, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) may begin to relieve some symptoms of hormonal imbalance in men. Many report feeling the full benefits of BHRT after their second insertion.

Other means of increasing Testosterone without pellets include testosterone (synthetic) injections, creams/gels,  clomiphene, kisspeptin peptide as well as lifestyle changes such as HIIT training, lifting weights, limiting alcohol, sleeping well and longer, lessening stress, and weight loss if that is a factor, to name a few.

Why We Dutch

DUTCH is an acronym that stands for Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones. It is a simple, but sophisticated test that looks not just at your hormones, but how your body processes and metabolizes them.

The DUTCH test looks not just at your reproductive hormones (although it does look at those quite thoroughly), but it also looks at your stress hormones, your androgens (male pattern hormones), your melatonin and the new DUTCH test also looks at organic acids – markers for mood and nutritional balance in the body.

Prices range from $299-$600 depending on what test is ordered. It is recommended to do this annually.

Monitoring estrogen metabolites is important. While BHRT is relatively safe- it is not without risks. Genetic variances, environmental exposures and lifestyle choices determine how we metabolize our estrogen.

Estrogen can be related colon and prostate cancers as well as the female cancers. This is why we DUTCH.

Cortisol/Adrenals

Stress levels are rampant, and this can manifest in fatigue, muscle aches, brain fog, low sex drive, anxiety, depression etc. Knowing your cortisol curve will be important to get to the source of the issue. This curve is part of the DUTCH test as well as other means of testing.
